IAR 80 was an iconic Romanian build fighter plane from the late ’30s. The model I made comes from a HobbyBoss kit, in 1:48 scale – recommended as one of the best in matter of details and accuracy for this model. It was, indeed, very pleasant to build.
After assembling the interior and painting it, the fuselage was closed and prepared to be “wing mounted”I painted the engine and attached to the planeThis kit doesn’t have a lot of surface details, so I took the decision to add a few … rivets. This is a preview of riveting
Preshading, alongside an old restored Heller Bf 108 Taifun
First upperside color applied (dark green)
Second upperside color (earth) was applied
I masked the plane for the RLM04 (yellow) axis markings

… and this is the finished downside
After applying the decals, the weathering was minimum, a pin wash, followed by some evacuation and guns smoke. Then the final assembly was in place.
