Corsair F4U-F 1:72 scale – Full build

This Revell kit was sitting in my stash for a while and it was time to build it. The plastic sprues are typical Revell, not extraordinary, but with enough details that can be enjoyable after all.

The interior details are sparse and the fitting was good, not much sanding or putty filling was needed.

I painted the engine and the interior first, then masked them and painted the entire fuselage with Hataka Dark Sea Blue (FS15042, ANA 623).

The propeller was painted with aluminum from Vallejo Metal Colors, then a layer of chipping fluid was applied, then black from Tamiya.

Chipping was applied to the propeller with a toothpick and a brush with strong bristles moisten in water.

After a clear glossy coat of varnish, I applied the decals, as you can see next:

After the weathering, the model was coated with clear matte varnish and I set up in place the last details. You can enjoy the gallery bellow.
